The Lagosette School

The school in Lagosette is a small rural school outside of Cap Haitian, Haiti. Over 300 children attend here each school day, many of whom would not have the opportunity to attend school without your help.  According to Unicef almost 40% of adults in Haiti cannot read and only half of all school-aged children are enroled and attending school.

The school on the Manna property in Lagosette not only allows children from several villages to attend school, but also provides a hot meal each school day--for many children, their only meal.   

Sponsor a Child:  Commit to support the school at $30 per month.  Several years ago we changed the sponsorship program from individual children and made it a school-wide program which helped to avoid some children receiving assistance while others went without.  Now, the entire school is sponsored and no child is excluded.  Each student’s family is required to pay a small fee each quarter, ensuring responsibility for their education and a local respect of the program.  Your sponsorship will help cover the cost of salaries for the administrator, teachers, groundskeeper/guards, cooks, as well as school supplies, uniforms, hot meals each school day, and miscellaneous staffing and administrative costs.  We would also like to continue meeting the medical needs of staff and students whenever possible.  Addition funds are needed to provide scholarships in cases where a student is exceptionally committed to continuing their education and giving back to the community.  

Make a Difference:  We are inviting you to partner with us financially to help meet the daily expenses of the school in Lagosette and there are a few ways you can do that.  You can choose to become a sponsor and commit $30 a month to support the school.  Or, you can choose to offer a one-time gift of any amount toward the operating expenses.  Another way you can get involved is to coordinate a Day of Prayer and Fasting in your local congregation and designate those funds to the Lagosette school (please contact Laura Beth lamb for more details: Laura This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Lagosette--Summer Groups Return

Summer 2010 marks the return of week-long visiting teams to the property in Lagosette.  we are excited to welcome these groups that will be involved in the outreach of the church, work projects and improvements to the facilities and school. Emergency Relief and Development

Manna Global Ministries will continue to work hard as a result of the deadly earthquake of January 12, 2010. We know we will be involved in the ongoing relief and rebuilding work in Haiti.  The lasting effects of the quake will be wide-spread after the initial emergency relief as communities deal with changes in population, limited resources, increase of orphans, etc.
